I've heard a lot of hype over this movie, and that automatically places this movie in a hole to try to live up to its reputation. Let me tell you it definitely does not disappoint. If your a MMA enthusiast your gonna love the move, if your not your still gonna love the movie. Its kinda what Rocky did, you didn't have to be a boxing fan to enjoy the films.
The movie doesn't follow the typical 'combat sport" path, when usually the protagonist being a no name underdog is fighting their way up to the top. But instead this movie has 2 protagonist, one underdog and the other the clear unstoppable character. The thing about this movie is that your rooting for both of them, there isn't really a clear antagonist. In certain scenes one of the protagonists takes the role of the antagonist but quickly reverts back. The movies does a great job during the fighting scenes, you already know that both them are gonna win, it would be counter intuitive if they didn't, but you were still on the edge of your seat throughout the fight. In the end both the protagonist meet in the final round (it was obvious it was gonna happen!), your torn between them because they both really need to win, oh and did i mention there're brothers?! The last 10 minutes of the film really takes you on an emotional roller coaster, its some of the best fighting scenes I've seen in any movie. There are a couple interesting story arcs that lend well too the movie, they don't seemed forced in anyway just to lengthen the movie.
Overall the movie was a well worth watching, its takes the Rocky movie template to a whole other level of story arcs and twists. I haven't enjoyed watching a sports combat movie this much since the good o'l Jean Cluade Van Damme days! ha

Proper Facebook Etiquette
Ok I've taken the time to make a list of the most annoying things people do on Facebook.
1. It really really annoying me when people use capital letter randomly in words, symbols and double letters in their posts.
example: "heYy Th3r3Zz L3t$ G0o 0uTtzz @nDd g3Tt SuMmm Grr@mMerR L3550nzz"
(It litterally took me like 7 minutes to write that!)
Come on! it takes forever for you to write it and it takes me just as long to read it, so lets just save us both some time and have you write like an adult!
2. When people get carried away with the emoticons!
Alright this one is not that bad, and its ok to use the occasional smiley or winkie face, but the kicker here is when a grown man posts either nothing but a smiley face or when he posts a heart. In NO situation should a man EVER post a heart! It doesn't matter if its to your wife or girlfriend or even your mom! Save those for your text messages!
3. Linking your Spotify account to your Facebook.
Spotify is a great service, don't get me wrong, I've been using it for months since the beta, and its a excellent alternative to Pandora. But honestly no one wants to know what your listening too all day! Especially when your changing songs every minute, your blowing up my live feed! Just take the 2 seconds it takes to unlink your accounts, that way your saved from the embarrassment of playing "just the way you are" 4x in a row and having all your friends knowing!
4. Too Many Video Posts.
This is one pretty self explanatory. I'm kinda guilty of doing this one, because I post somewhat a lot of videos too...but the catch is I don't post 7 videos back to back! Like I said before its ok to post a video of your favorite song, comedy sketch etc. But lets cool it down on the back to back to back posts!
Suggestion: Make a Spotify account and make a playlist of your favorite songs and share the playlist that way your only using one post! (because most vids people post are music videos)
5. Check-Ins!
Check-Ins are a great feature on Facebook, but...a lot people abuse it! They come in handy every once in awhile and I don't mind knowing where my friends are at from time to time. The part the annoys me is when people check into the same place everyday!! But the big one here is when people check in to the gym every other day, ok we get it, you work out and are in shape! No need to let us know every day, and it kinda feels like your doing it for attention, so just turn it down a notch on the check-ins!
6. WHEN PEOPLE WRITE IN ALL CAPS!!!
This one is super annoying to me! Why do you feel the need to write in all caps!? Are you doing it so people can notice your post!? In my mind im just reading it like your yelling! Writing in all caps is the internet's universal way to express yelling. (that's a fact I learned that in high school in my computer class ha) Anyways hit the caps lock key again and write like a normal person and stop trying to get attention!
Well that's about it, now that I look it, I should probably change the title to, "Things that really super annoy me on Facebook" but I think that title is a tad bit too long. Be a good Facebook friend to your freinds and try to follow these simple steps, the world would be a much more peaceful place if everyone would!

Review: Odi Acoustic
So one day I was bored on Youtube looking at acoustic covers of my favorite songs, to listen and to and maybe learn a couple new ones, when i stumbled upon internet gold! Odi, a 23 year old covering acoustically all of my favorite Blink 182 and Angels and Airwaves songs. From that point forward I couldn't listen to their songs without thinking about the endless possibilities of their acoustic counterparts.
The first song I listened from Odi was "Dysentary Gary" by Blink, which is a basically a "romantic comdey" song. The song is a fast paced punk ballad with Tom's [Delonge] high pitched ecstatic vocals. The song jumps from serious heartbreak to almost a comedy feel. There's lyrics ranging from "I would like to find him friday night, hanging out with mom, trying on his father tights" followed directly by a more serious toned line, "Life just sucks, I lost the one, there's plenty more, girls are such a drag." If you've ever heard the original song its hard to imagine a acoustic version of this song that wouldn't sound so "forced" but Odi found the perfect combination of Blinks sound with his own style of playing. Odi's version is what you would expect from any acoustic song, an organic toned down sound with soft soothing vocals. Even the "toliet" humor of the original has a sort of "elegant" and "proper" sound to them.
Odi has done successfully what many have tried and failed, making cover songs better than the originals. A couple of example are "fighting the gravity", "snake charmer" and "MH 4.18.2011" all by blink. In all 3 examples he makes a mediocre song into a great song, (usually when I listen to Blink's Neighborhoods I skip those songs). Odi's acoustic style blends so well with the basic structure and lyrics of both Tom and Mark's [Hoppus] songs. Its not only Odi's guitar playing and his musical interpretation that makes his songs so musically appealing, but he also has a great voice that lends so well to his songs.
Again I think this review is gonna be pretty biased because it blends two of my favorite things, acoustic covers and Blink-182/AVA. Odi makes great covers, but he's not only just a "cover" artist he has a full length cd entitled "time is a stranger" which is available on itunes. After hearing most of his covers, I decided to purchase it and I really enjoyed his own work as well. Anyways in conclusion Odi has done some of the best covers i've seen from any artist covering anyone. The only complain I have is that, every time I listen to one of his covers it makes me realize how not good I am at guitar and how much more practice i need and how envious I am of him haha. Its a pleasure listening to his covers and music, I wish him the best of luck!

"Cold" Blanket
For the longest time I've had this idea that I thought was mine and solely mine...until today when i stumbled upon this! This is basically the exact same idea I had for for a "cold" blanket. My multi-billion dollar idea is no longer mine, I won't go out in history with the great inventors; Edison, Telsa, Bell, Ford! I've had this idea of the "cold" blankets since I was about 8 or 9 years old. Now that I think about it, a "cold" blanket is such a oxymoranic concept, a blankets sole purpose is to keep you warm!
Anyways I was truly devastated when I came across MY idea had already been "invented". Time to go back to the drawing board.

Food Pics on Facebook
I dunno if its just me, or am I taking this way too far ha, but it really annoys me when people post pics of food on their Facebook. Not just food but drinks too! Lets be honest nobody cares what your eating or drinking, let alone want to see a picture of it! There are a couple exceptions deemed reasonable for such pictures and I've taken the time to make a short list!
1. If your in a far away land and eating something exotic! like a live octopus
1. If your in a far away land and eating something exotic! like a live octopus
Actually that's probably the only appropriate situation which is kinda ok to post, but nobody wants to see pics of pasta and margaritas, once you've seen one you've seen them all!

Review: Money Ball
Money Ball!! When i first saw the previews for this movie, i was like, damn other feel good sports story, its been done before many many times; and most times it falls short....but not this time! haha Unlike most feel good sports movies, this one doesn't center around racial discrimination, its not a rag to riches story, even the ending isn't a "fairy tale" ending. Which is a good thing, it doesn't make it a real predicable story, which i like.
The Movie starts out kinda slow, like most non action movies, but it quickly grabs you into the story of how Brad's character is gonna rebuild the team after losing its super stars. It was a big surprise on how well jonah hill portrayed a serious character, not the usual "funny fat guy". It didn't seem awkward for him, it was very organic and fluid. Brad's interpretation of Billy Beane was more than marvelous, at times i even forgot it was brad! ha I really liked how it wasn't really watered down with a love story like most movies nowadays. It did have a couple of "soft" "mushy" moments with his daughter, which by the way i noticed the little girl actress wasn't that great. Towards the end up of the movie your just waiting for the perfect ending....which it falls short of perfect (for the characters at least). Its one of the best aspects of the movie, because we are all expecting everything to be fine in the end of movies and its always a quiet surprise when its not, it shakes up the usual mechanics of a movie. What makes this movie really relate-able is the fact the the only obstacle the protagonists have to face is money! (like the title suggests)Which in reality we all face that same obstacle, which makes it so appealing to the average person even to the non sports liking losers out there. There are a couple "boring" parts in the movie but then again its rare for a movie not too. I kinda felt wanting to know a little bit more of what happened to Billy in the end it kinda just drops off into nothing.
The movie leaves you satisfied and not feeling like you wasted and hour and half of your life. Its a very watchable movie, definitely not in my top 10, but i enjoyed watching it, so i recommend you doing the same! ha
overall 7.8/10

Review: Blink 182's Neighborhoods
Alright people this is gonna be my first blog review and probably my most biased one. If you know me, you know im a huge Blink fan so from the start i was basically gonna like this album. When they first announced they were gonna reform back in 2009, i couldn't wait for this album to drop, i was like a little kid waiting to open my presents on christmas morning. When i finally got my hands on a leaked version (note: i did pre-order the deluxe edition so i technically didn't steal it ha)...i was not disappointed what soever.
From the very begining the albums starts out with "ghost on the dance floor" and if your a big Tom [Delonge] like me; you could hear a tad bit of Box Car Racer's "There Is" along with some angels and airwaves all mixed in. This song sets the tone for basically the whole album. The albums is a huge melting pot for all three (tom, mark and travis) musical taste, ranging from Mark's indie taste, to Tom's big stadium rock anthems to Travis' punk and hiphop likings. The second track on the record is "natives" which is basically "carousal part 2" it has the punk riffs which we love from blink along with a sprinkling of some AVA dust on top. The Albums follows with two of the strongest tracks on the record; "up all night" and "after midnight". Its hard not to like the melodic and harmonic chorus of "up all night" which catches both delonge and hoppus sharing the spot light. While "after midnight" gives a nod to "i miss you" with its hopeless romantic kinda feel. Its a perfect mix of toms over dramatic voice, while marks mellow chill and soothing voice blurts the the typical catchy blink choruses. In my personal option this song is one of blinks best work ever, i couldn't stop listening it, ear-gasm after ear-gasm and i still find myself putting that track on repeat. The albums continues strong all the way up until 2 of the weakest tracks on the albums. "love is dangerous" falls short and seems like a last minute addition to lengthen the album. "Fighting the Gravity" is probably one of the weirdest tracks i've listened and does not fit well with the rest of the albums, it doesn't even sound like anything blink or any of their side projects would do. The albums ends strong with "even if she falls" the song lends great to tom's guitar style and voice, its a mellow-dramatic love song, which makes a great ending to a great albums, i could see them ending a concert with such a song.
Overall The albums did stand up to the Blink name. Some people will dislike it because its so much different from lets say..."Dude Ranch". But then again those same people would say its too much like "dude ranch" if it sounded like it "dude ranch", so its always a lose-lose for blink. But i think they took the album in the perfect direction, blending all their musical inspirations to form an excellent cd. Overall great album, would of been perfect with the exclusion of a couple songs, but the other songs pick up the slack. Anyways pick up the album!!
